PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH FOR ONE NEEDING COUNSEL

Joseph, in your life on earth

you well knew the agonies of doubt

and of uncertainty,

and yourself experienced deeply

the need all men have of guidance.

Look with compassion upon...

who stands in great need of wise counsel.

Pray for him to the Spirit of Wisdom,

of Counsel, and of Understanding,

to aid him with His light and His truth.

May your own example inspire him

to submit himself wholeheartedly

to the will of God

and to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

May your prayers win for him

the strength to follow that leading;

and may he experiences the joy

to be found in being one with our Lord

in saying,

'Father, your will be done.'
